As parents, we tend to have preconceived notions about the problems that affect our children and sometimes it can be a bit difficult changing these opinions depending on the feedback we get from our children and other children. Despite the fact that we were all children at one point, our outlook when it comes to these problems will not always be the same and sometimes we should take the time to ask our children what they think about certain things. This can be a great way to build up our relationship with them and it will help us understand what they go through on a daily basis as well as giving us options to understand how to deal with these issues when they come up.

Let’s take head lice for example, while we are sure adults understand what head lice are and why they are caused, children can sometimes hear a lot of different opinions and facts that may or may not be correct and we thought it would be a good idea to see what they think about lice and the effect that a problem like this can have in their lives.

What do Kids have to say about lice?

We asked around for kids’ opinion on lice and we were able to find out what they thought about head lice; Jonathan from Wisconsin said that “you get lice when you spend a lot of time playing in the dirt” and that in order to get rid of lice you would have to “shave your head”. While it might seem funny at first, these two factoids are common misconceptions when it comes to head lice and we cannot blame Jonathan for spreading this information around, but the fact is that having head lice has nothing to do with playing in the dirt or being around a dirty environment, the fact is that children will enjoy playing in the dirt and the grass and the mud and there is little we can do to avoid it,  but parents should not be concerned about lice as they can only be passed on from direct contact with other children or by wearing articles of clothing that have been infected. As for shaving the head to get rid of lice, yes it might help a bit but there’s no way to be certain this will work, and while there are some hairstyles that can help your children prevent head lice, there are several things you can do to prevent your children from getting head lice. In fact, here at ClearLice we offer a preventive treatment made from all-natural ingredients that can help keep these nasty little bugs away from your kids.

On the other hand, it is really great to know that more and more children are aware of the symptoms of head lice and how to get rid of them effectively using a natural head lice treatment. In fact, we asked Michelle from Iowa watch she knew about head lice and how to get rid of them and what she said really surprised us, she said that she started noticing some tiny white dots on her hair when she was brushing and she asked her mom what they were. Unfortunately it seems like she was playing with another girl’s hair and accidentally got head lice from her. Upon closer inspection, her mother noticed that the problem was just starting and she was able to control it almost immediately with the help of ClearLice “We asked for the overnight shipping and got the treatment kit the next morning, we started using it right away and it was like we never even had a problem at all!” said Michelle’s mother when asked about the effectiveness of our product.

Finally, it seems like more and more children are learning the facts about lice and how to treat it, even if the school is a natural environment for rumors and misinformation. As parents, it is our duty to keep our children informed and teach them how to take care of themselves at school, in the playground and in other places. And even know it might be difficult sometimes due to the playful nature of children, there are several things we can do to help them fight off head lice either as preventive measure, active treatment or both, and by educating our children on the symptoms and causes of head lice we are preparing them and making them aware on the steps we as parents take to prevent head lice.
